Your child may have noticed the way the magnets stick to the refrigerator. Kids may be surprised to know that there's a world of magnetism to discover. This eight piece set feature a straight, horseshoe, disc, ring, and star magnets, along with paper clips and a bar. Encourage kids to design their own experiments with these fun magnets. Find out if you can pick up paper clips, coins, keys, pins, nails, foil, wood, or plastic. Whatever is attracted to the magnet may have iron.
You may notice the N and S at the ends of the magnets. N stands for North, and S stands for South. Each magnet has a North and South end, or pole. Opposite poles attract, and like poles repel. Design some experiments to see how the polarity affects attraction and repulsion.
